Jacek Protasiewicz, an influential MEP from the ruling Civic Platform has told TVP Info that he was the victim of “open aggression” on the part of a German airport official. Meanwhile German tabloid Bild has accused the Polish MEP of being drunk and offending the service in the airport in Frankfurt.
“I was asked to come for baggage control...I brought out my Polish diplomatic passport. This must have enraged the young German airport worker who gave me back the passport and said 'Raus',” Protasiewicz said.
“I turned around and asked him if he knew that in Poland the word 'Raus' had similar connotations to the phrase 'Heil Hitler.' Then the man pushed me,” said the MEP.
Protasiewicz then claimed he was handcuffed and rough-handled by German airport personnel. He admits to having drunk alcohol on his flight but claims he only drank “two glasses of wine during lunch.”
