Labor unions in Poland’s national air carrier LOT Polish Airlines launched a strike referendum on Thursday. They are protesting against the management’s decision to change remuneration rules.

Pilots’ union spokesperson Maciej Farski told the Polish Press Agency that the vote will be held by all union organizations at the airline. He did not specify what form of strike could be carried out if the vote is in favor of a protest.

LOT’s spokesperson Barbara Pijanowska-Kuras said that the company is not worried about the referendum. She said that the airline is acting in accordance with the law in the remuneration issue. In her opinion, the unions are trying to put pressure on their employer.
