The warehouse space lease volume in Poland amounted to 2 million sqm last year, which accounts for more than a half of the entire stock leased in Central Europe (including Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Hungary).
“Central Europe benefits from being located close to Germany, which fuels European economy. German companies, particularly in the automotive sector, have been moving production to Central European countries and nothing indicates this process should stop,” said Ferdinand Hlobil, head of the CEE industrial team at Cushman & Wakefield.
In 2013, a total of 690,000 sqm of modern industrial, logistics and warehouse space was delivered in Central Europe, valued at €330 million and creating 3,700 new jobs in the region.
