A negative situation in Ukraine’s economy will impact other countries, including Poland, President Bronisław Komorowski said at a press conference after an extraordinary sitting of the National Security Council.
The sitting was organized with the aim of discussing the situation in Ukraine and its influence on Poland. Following months of protests, the Ukrainian parliament has ousted the country’s president and government. The country has also signaled it needs foreign financial aid.
In Komorowski’s opinion, Poland should support reforms in Ukraine in several areas. One of them is assistance in building a complex anti-corruption system. Other areas Poland could help in are building a system to support small and medium-sized enterprises, the president said.
