Integer to enter Italian postal market

Grupa Integer, a Polish postal company, is to install 400 InPost parcel lockers in Italy by the end of June 2014, the company announced in statement, Tuesday.

The investment is worth over €30 million, and will encompass northern cities in Italy, such as Milan and Turin, as well as the capital, Rome.

The company has teamed up with Banzai, an Italian internet sales holding, to develop its parcel locker network in the country.

Integer also announced that is has further plans to enter the US and Chinese markets. Some 10,000 parcel lockers are planned to be in stalled in the US by the end of 2016, while in China the first such lockers will be placed in Beijing and Shanghai.

The company claims that the total cost of the planned investments may reach in excess of €1 billion.
