Polkomtel, the operator of the Plus mobile telephony network, has petitioned the Electronic Communications Office (UKE) to call off a planned auction for 800/2600 MHz frequencies, to be used for LTE services.

In its press release, Polkomtel said that it wrote to UKE describing examples of how its competitors – Orange and T-Mobile – tried to circumvent the law and pointed to the lack of transparency in auctions organized by the institution. The process is not sufficiently supervised, the company said.

The LTE frequencies auction was announced by UKE in late December 2013. The deadline for applications is February 14.
