Poland’s budget deficit amounted to about PLN 42.5 billion at the end of last year, less than was assumed in the amended budget law, Deputy Finance Minister Hanna Majszczyk told reporters on Wednesday.
Budget revenues came in at PLN 3 billion higher that was planned, Majszczyk said, while expenditures were some PLN 6 billion lower than expected. As a result, the final deficit stood for 82.5 percent of the budget plan.
In a September amendment to last year’s budget law, the expected budget deficit was increased to PLN 45.41 billion.
