It cannot be ruled out that a new telecommunications market player will bid in an upcoming LTE frequencies auction in Poland, Magdalena Gaj, head of the Electronic Communications Office, told Rzeczpospolita in an interview.
There is huge interest in Poland as a market for investments, Gaj said. On the other hand, it is difficult to imagine a new operator on Poland’s saturated mobile telephony market, unless it signs domestic roaming agreements, she said.
There are currently four infrastructure mobile telephony operators in Poland: Deutsche Telekom’s T-Mobile Poland, Orange Poland, Polkomtel and P4.
