The volume of household appliance production in Poland increased by 6 percent to 23.1 million items in 2013, marking another year of increases. In 2012, the export of household appliances increased by 10 percent in terms of value to PLN 14.2 billion.
The range of best-selling products consists of the larger appliances such as dishwashers, fridges and washing machines. The production of these items increased by 11 percent to 17.6 million pieces in 2013. The production of smaller appliances, such as vacuum cleaners, decreased by 8 percent to 5.5 million pieces.
An average of 70-80 percent of the produced appliances reaches European markets. The annual sales of household appliances in Poland amounted to only 4.6 million pieces. In Germany, this figure reaches 15.4 million pieces annually and in France, 12 million. Poland has been the largest producer of household appliances in Europe for the past few years in terms of quantity.
