Industrial production in December 2013 grew by 6.6 percent year-on-year, Poland’s central statistics office GUS reported on Tuesday.

Month-on-month, production dropped by 9.7 percent.

Meanwhile, seasonally adjusted industrial output grew in December 2013 by 5.2 percent y/y and dropped by 0.4 percent m/m.

Analysts surveyed by the Polish Press Agency expected 10 percent y/y growth and a m/m drop of 6.5 percent in December.

An e-mailed comment from BZ WBK states that “In December 2013, industrial output grew by 6.6 percent y/y, while construction production increased by 5.8 percent y/y. In both cases the figures were lower than expected, even though the growth was much faster than in previous months.”
