Scientists from the Institute of Computer Science at the Polish Academy of Sciences are working on a Polish web search engine, called Nekst.
The new search engine is meant to be more accurate than its competitors.
Before Nekst is made available to the public, it will have analyzed half of the total Polish-related content on the web, about half a billion entries, Mieczysław Kłopotek from the institute told Polish Radio. Google’s database only has about 250 million, he said.
The scientists have been working on the project since 2009. Analyzing web content will take them another five months from now, Kłopotek said.
