Polish retail sales up by 7.2% y/y in November

The volume of retail trade in Poland grew by 7.2 percent year-on-year and by 1.9 percent month-on-month in November 2013, according to data published by the EU’s statistics office Eurostat on Wednesday. Throughout the EU, retail sales grew by 2.0 percent y/y and by 1.2 percent m/m in November.

In the euro area, the figure increased by 1.6 percent y/y and by 1.4 percent m/m. Poland’s statistics office GUS, which uses a different methodology, saw Polish retail sales rise by 3.8 percent y/y and decline by 5.8 percent m/m in November.
