Adam Hofman will be reinstated as a member of the opposition Law and Justice, the party’s deputy spokesperson Marcin Mastalerek told reporters on Monday.
Mr Hofman suspended his membership in Law and Justice and its parliamentary caucus in late November after the Central Anti-corruption Bureau (CBA) informed prosecutors of alleged irregularities in the MP’s annual financial declaration. He was also stripped of his function as spokesperson.
Mr Hofman’s reinstatement comes after prosecutors dropped all charges. He will also resume his role as the party’s press officer.
The alleged irregularities involved unpaid tax on a loan the MP received from an acquaintance.
“According to the findings, the amount of unpaid tax does not reach a level that would constitute a felony,” the prosecutor said.
The sum falls in the category of a misdemeanor, on which the statute of limitations has already expired.
