Increase in Polish wine export

Polish wine firms are doing increasingly well abroad, with exports of Polish wine in 2009 worth €10 million.

However, the figure increased to €11 million just in the first half of 2013, according to data from FAMMU/FAPA. The companies are managing to export to the United States, Lebanon, China and Nigeria.

Fruit-flavored and sparkling wines are the most profitable products abroad – they do not sell as well in Poland, due to their frequent connotation with communism.

Polish firms that successfully export wines include Bartex-Bartol, Virpol and Janton.
