Health care services group Lux Med purchased an 80.9 percent stake in Sport Medica, which owns the Carolina Medical Center hospital. The exact value of the transaction was not disclosed.
The center specializes in orthopedic treatments, which are some of the best-paid medical services in Poland.
It is estimated that about zl.12.5 billion will be spent on private medical therapies and surgeries this year in Poland – especially seeing as a patient must wait several months up to a year for similar treatments funded by state hospitals.
Lux Med us the biggest medial services provider in Poland. It has 143 clinics. In April this year British BuPa bought Lux Med from Mid Europa Partners for zł.400 million.
