Poland 2nd largest EU exporter of doors and windows
Poland is becoming one of Europe's largest window and door producers. In 2012, about 8.7 million doors and 12.8 million windows were produced here, according to estimates made by ASM Centrum Badań i Analiz Rynku based on Eurostat data. The value of total window and door production was €2.3 billion, while exports amounted to €0.9 billion.
This makes Poland the second largest exporter in the EU behind Germany, which exported €1.1 billion worth of doors and windows.
Even though internal demand has slowed down recently, Polish companies see a chance in the growing European market. Rising demand in Europe is fueled by a trend to make buildings more energy efficient by installing better windows and doors.
