Newspaper sales slump further
In year-on-year terms, sales of all the major Polish daily newspapers were down in January. Gazeta Wyborcza remained the market leader in the broadsheet segment, with a circulation of 236,118 copies in January, down by 16.7 percent y/y and by 8.6 percent month-on-month.
Dziennik Gazeta Prawna had a circulation of 98,836 copies in January, down by 29.5 percent y/y, but up by 34.5 percent m/m. Sales of Rzeczpospolita fell the most, by 37.9 percent y/y and by 22.6 percent m/m, to 76,839 copies.
In the tabloid segment, Fakt had the highest sales of 361,617 copies, down by 8.7 percent y/y, but up by 4.7 percent m/m. Sales of Super Express were at 159,999 copies in January, down by 5.1 percent y/y, but up by 0.3 percent m/m.
