Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the perspective of Poland's euro zone entry is clear but it's a matter of “years not months.” He said that Poland would adopt the euro only when it is absolutely certain that its citizens will not lose with the move. “The president and I are convinced that Poland is heading for the euro zone, and the euro zone should be a safe haven for Poland, not a casino, where gambling is part of the logic,” the prime minister said.

Mr Tusk said that a meeting of the president and the government to discuss future euro adoption has already been scheduled. Later on Thursday, the president's press office said that the meeting will be held on February 26.
