Music sales in Poland on the rise
The sales of music on CDs and other physical formats grew to zł.344 million in 2012 from zł.300 million, according to EMI Music Polska. As usual, CDs by Polish artists sold better than foreign ones.
In the same period, digital music sales grew from zł.24 million to zł.44 million. With new digital streaming services debuting recently on the Polish market, PwC estimates that 2013 revenues from digital music sales will reach $17 million. The projected sales of CDs in physical format in 2013 are at $105 million. Globally, digital formats are expected to overtake physical ones in terms of sales by 2016.
