Poland's largest oil refiner PKN Orlen signed a $15 billion contract with Russia's Rosneft on the supply of 6 million metric tons of crude oil annually to its Płock refinery through the Druzhba pipeline. The contract is valid from February 1, 2013, to January 31, 2016. Orlen said that this is the first long-term agreement for oil supply directly from an extraction company. The contracted oil may also be delivered by sea through Gdańsk.

This is the third contract on the supply of crude oil to the Płock refinery. Mercuria Energy Trading and Souz Petrolium are the other providers. “The contract with Rosneft is the last one for Płock refinery for the next few years. We've managed to guarantee 80 percent its supply of crude oil with long term deals,” said Jacek Krawiec, Orlen's CEO
