Transgender MP next deputy speaker?
The socially liberal Palikot's Movement has announced officially that transgender MP Anna Grodzka is its candidate for deputy speaker of the Sejm.
Traditionally, each party in parliament is allowed one deputy speaker. The party withdrew its support for deputy speaker Wanda Nowicka after she accepted a controversial bonus for her work in parliament. Ms Grodzka had been mooted for the position for some time, but her candidacy had not been confirmed until now.
