PGNiG to distribute electricity as well
Poland's largest natural gas distributor PGNiG may begin selling electric energy this year. The company will buy energy on the power exchange and then distribute it to its customers. The process will be launched first for business customers and then, in 2014, for households. PGNiG however stresses that the new offer will be available only after it makes necessary changes to its IT system.
So far only two companies have offered such a service: Energia dla firm and Duon, but their total share in the market amounts to only 1 percent. PGNiG, however reaches 6.5 million households.
