Unemployment and wages both rose in 2012
The average gross monthly salary rose 2.4 percent year-on-year to zł.4,111.69 in December 2012, according to data published by statistical office GUS. Compared with November data, salaries rose 8.8 percent.
Economists surveyed by PAP had expected the year-on-year figure to be 1.9 percent and the month-on-month one to be 8.3 percent.
GUS also said that 5.47 million people were employed in Polish enterprises in December, 0.5 percent less than a year earlier and 0.4 percent less than in November.
