Over 30 candidates for LOT CEO position
The supervisory board of Polish national airline PLL LOT received 31 applications for the position of CEO. It announced a competition, having fired chief executive Marcin Piróg shortly after the airline asked for public financial aid. Wojciech Balczun, president of the supervisory board, said that the large number of applications shows the company's business potential. The board also received 10 applications for the position of management board member responsible for trade.
Mr Piróg was fired upon revelations that the national carrier is in dire financial straits. Already zł.400 million has been paid out as part of a state-aid to keep company afloat.
Candidates for the position will have their job interviews on Friday.
