Jadwiga Kaczyńska, mother of Jarosław and Lech Kaczyński, dies
Jadwiga Kaczyńska, the mother of late Polish President Lech Kaczyński and his twin brother, former Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński, died on Thursday. She was born in 1926 in Starachowice, in south-central Poland, but spent most of her life in Warsaw. During World War II, she took part in the underground movement against German occupation. She was a Polish philologist and spent a large part of her life working as a schoolteacher.
