Troubled Polish builder Polimex-Mostostal wants to get involved in shale gas-related research projects, reported Rzeczpospolita.

The company has just signed an agreement with the Military University of Technology (WAT) to establish a consortium to cooperate on developing modern shale gas extraction technologies.

The consortium hopes to obtain significant funds from the state’s “Blue Gas” program which was brought into being in order to support innovative research projects in the promising shale gas sector. The total budget of the “Blue Gas” program is expected to reach zł.1 billion.
