Utility PGE is getting ready to launch a tender for the construction and financing of Poland’s first nuclear power plant, Parkiet reported.
So far, the group has invited 13 companies to take part in initial talks but more firms might soon join this elite group.
No details regarding potential participants of the nuclear program have been revealed but the list of companies that are said to be involved in preliminary consultations includes such names as Westinghouse, GE Hitachi, Areva and EDF.
The tender itself is due to be launched by the end of March 2013. The first Polish nuclear power plant will be built by 2023 for some zł.35-55 billion.
