Smartphones fueling online gaming market
Central and Eastern Europe's market for casual video games, namely those easiest to access online, is projected to increase to zł.6.02 billion from a present value of zł.3.8 billion by 2016, according to Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.
During the same period, the global casual game market is expected to grow to $46 billion.
Analysts attribute this trajectory to growing sales of smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices: in the last four years, the number of new active smartphones has jumped by 200 percent per year and the number of new active tablets by 280 percent per year.
