Facebook is set to open offices in Warsaw that will look after the company's interests in Central and Eastern Europe, reports Rzeczpospolita. Its main focus will be the selling advertisements and collaborating with local programmers.
The Warsaw offices will be Facebook's HQ for 30 countries in the region. Its head will be Diego Oliva, who has already opened five regional Facebook offices across Europe.
Facebook chose Poland for its Central and Eastern Europe HQ because it believes Poland's economic performance was solid against the backdrop of the global recession, Mr Diego explained.
“You have a very predictable functioning of business and less bureaucratic procedures for setting up companies than in other countries. Besides Polish Facebook currently has more than 9 million active users, and the number is constantly growing,” he added.
