Poland to reinstate border controls for Euro 2012
Poland is planning to temporarily reinstate border controls in certain areas during the upcoming Euro 2012 soccer championship, Interior Minister Jacek Cichocki said on Monday, reported Gazeta Wyborcza.
However, Mr Cichoski said this would not cause difficulties for Polish citizens who will be able to cross Poland's borders as usual.
Border controls will be introduced from June 4 to July 1 but will be intermittent and limited to specific locations, the interior minister said.
Similar temporary measures were introduced by Germany during the World Cup in 2006 and during Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.
