Three companies interested in buying Lot Polish Airlines
Turkish Airlines, Air France/KLM and Lufthansa are all interested in acquiring state-controlled Lot Polish Airlines, reported Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, citing unnamed sources.
The Treasury has already confirmed that it has officially entered into talks with Turkish Airlines, but failed to confirm any other potential buyers.
But unnamed sources from the Treasury told DGP that Air France/KLM and Lufthansa are the other interested companies.
“We'd like to privatize Lot as soon as possible, by the end of 2012 at the latest,” Treasury spokesperson Magdalena Kobos told the newspaper.
In order for the takeover to happen, regulations would have to be modified because current rules say that the state has to maintain a 51-percent stake in the company.
