Polish unemployment worse than expected in January
The unemployment rate in Poland reached 13.3 percent in January, with 138,000 more people registered as being out of work than a month earlier, according to the Ministry of Labor.
This was worse than expected, since economists polled by Parkiet had predicted that unemployment would reach 13.1 percent in the first month of 2012.
January is traditionally the month with the highest growth in unemployment.
Ministry of Labor data indicates that there are currently more than 2,100,000 people who are registered as unemployed.
