Russian Sberbank may debut on WSE
Sberbank, Russia's biggest bank, has not given up on entering the Polish market. Following a series of unfruitful negotiations regarding the takeover of a Polish bank, the Russian giant is considering listing on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna wrote.
It is reportedly hoping that this will help it in taking over Polish financial institutions.
“The WSE is showing strong signs of progress. Sberbank can issue securities in Poland if it sees there is a demand,” Sberbank CEO German Gref told journalists.
