UOKiK fines Reader's Digest zł.4.3 million
The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has fined the Polish arm of Reader's Digest zł.4.3 million, after it found that the publisher was involved in numerous irregular practices, reported Puls Biznesu.
These included demanding money for products that were not actually ordered and suggesting winning a prize.
The firm will also have to publish UOKiK's decision on its website. The decision is not final and can be appealed in court.
The Polish arm of Reader's Digest, which specializes in mail order books, was formed in 1995.
