HP wants to invest in Poland
American tech giant Hewlett-Packard (HP) is considering launching a Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) services center in Poland, reported Parkiet.
According to unofficial sources, the investment could create up to 500 jobs.
The crisis might prove a boon for the Polish outsourcing sector, believes Jacek Levernes, vice president of HP global business services for Europe, Middle East & Africa. “Companies in developed countries will have to cut costs and, consequently, accelerate the search for cheaper markets for outsourcing service operations,” the daily quoted Mr Levernes as saying.
There are speculations that other global concerns such as Bayer, Dolby and the Bank of New York may also be interested in following in HP's footsteps.
