World Bank lowers GDP growth forecast for Poland
The World Bank, which several months ago expected Poland's economy to grow by 2.9 percent this year, now predicts that Poland’s GDP growth might slow down even to 2.5 percent in 2012.
“Poland's numbers could be somewhere between 2.5 percent and 2.9 percent. Now we are leaning towards 2.5 percent,” Andrew Burns, manager of global macroeconomics at the World Bank, told a conference on Thursday.
When asked about what the country should do to ensure its economy keeps growing, Mr Burns answered: “More of what it has already done, while assuming that the situation will keep getting worse, at least through the first half of the year.”
