The number of flights serviced by Polish airports is expected to increase by 14.7 percent year-on-year in 2012, according to forecasts from the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency.
The 2012 European soccer championships will contribute significantly to the expected increase.
The rest of Europe, meanwhile, is forecast to handle 1.6 percent more flights y/y – that's according to estimates made by Eurocontrol, an intergovernmental European organization for the safety of air navigation.
Until mid-December 2011, the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency had recorded over 600,000 flights in Poland for 2011, some 9.2 percent more than in the corresponding period of the previous year.
