Belgian medical equipment and services company Arseus NV announced in a press statement on Tuesday that it had bought Pharma Cosmetic, a leading supplier of pharmaceutical raw materials for compounding pharmacies in Poland.

Arseus, which produces among other things surgical instruments, dentist chairs and pharmaceutical ingredients, said Pharma Cosmetic was the market leader in Poland in its sector.

The Polish firm is expected to achieve a turnover of about zł.33.1 million for the year 2011. Meanwhile, its core profit (EBITDA) margin was above that of Arseus's pharmaceutical compounding unit Fagron, Arseus stated.

“Pharma Cosmetic is a wonderful company that has developed strongly in recent years. Because of the excellent track record and organizational quality of both Pharma Cosmetic and Fagron, we expect a rapid and smooth integration,” commented Ger van Jeveren, CEO of Arseus and Fagron.

Pharma Cosmetic was formed in 1991 and currently has 64 employees. The consolidation will come into effect as of January 1, 2012.
