Fitch optimistic on Poland
A speedy implementation of the government's economic plans could lead to an improvement in the financial outlook for Poland, according to ratings agency Fitch.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government plans to introduce cost-cutting measures and reduce spending in order to balance the budget.
However, economists believe reducing the deficit in 2012 to 3 percent of GDP will be a very difficult task, reported Rzeczpospolita.
“If they implement all that is planned, which could take more than a year, the prospect may be increased in the medium term,” Piotr Kowalski, president of Fitch Poland, told the newspaper.
