Poland will not be sending a representative to the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Azerbaijan, according to TVP (Polish Public Television).

This is because all the station's resources will be focused on providing coverage of Euro 2012 and the London Olympics, which both take place next summer. Eurovision 2012 takes place in May.

The Eurovision Song Contest has been held since 1956, with Poland participating in the event since 1994. The country's best result was on its debut in 1994, when Edyta Gorniak came second with her song “It's not me.”

In 2011, Poland's entrant, Magdalena Tul, did not even make it to the live televised final, after she came last at the semi-final stage.
