France's Vivendi has taken control of ITI Holdings' pay-TV platform businesses in Poland, and has also gained an option to take over Polish broadcaster TVN.
Vivendi signed a contract with ITI on Monday, giving it 51 percent of the pay-TV platforms of Cyfra+ and TVN's 'n' platform. In doing so, the French company has gained a client base of 2.5 million.
TVN will hold a 32 percent stake in the pay-TV venture, valued at zł.1.9 billion.
Vivendi's Canal+ has also agreed to purchase 40 percent of ITI's N-Vision, which holds a 51 percent stake in TVN.
Canal + has an option to buy the full stake in N-Vision, which would give it control of TVN.
