Polish companies investing strongly despite Europe worries
Despite the difficult financial situation in Europe, Polish companies spent 16 percent more on investments in the third quarter of 2011 than a year ago, reported Puls Biznesu.
The turmoil on stock markets has not prevented the Polish economy from experiencing a wave of company investments. According to the Central Statistical Office, in the third quarter, SMEs (which hire at least 50 people) spent zł.24.8 billion on development investments, such as the construction of plants, warehouses and the acquisition of machinery.
This represents a 16.4 percent year-on-year increase. The last time companies invested this much was before the 2008 crisis.
