Nine consortia have submitted offers in the tender for the construction of a 1,000 MW electricity plant in Ostrołęka. The contract is valued at zł.6-7 billion.
Among those who submitted tenders are Polimex-Mostostal with Hitachi, Pol-Aqua and Dragados, and a consotium of Rafako, PGB and Mostostal Warszawa, Puls Biznesu wrote. Other companies seeking the contract are Alstom, Shanghai Electric Group Company and a consortium of Gama and Dusan.
The shortlist is due to be announced by the end of the year, with the winner of the tender expected to be revealed by mid-2012.
The power plant should be operational towards the end of 2016, and will generate about 7,200 GWh of electrical energy per year, which is equivalent to the quantities consumed by major cities such as Kraków and Poznań.
Polish power company Energa, which is holding the tender, wants to finance the investment through loans and private capital.
