Polish economy grew 4.2% in Q3
The Polish economy expanded by 4.2 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2011, according to preliminary figures released by the Central Statistical Office (GUS) on Wednesday morning.
The main engine of growth in Q3 was domestic consumption which accounted for 3.2 percentage points of the growth. Net exports also played a strong role, accounting for 1 percentage point of growth. Exports rose 7.7 percent year-on-year.
Most economists expect Poland's economy to grow by around 4 percent for full-year 2011, before slowing next year.
