Poland's budget deficit pleases Finance Ministry
Poland's Ministry of Finance announced that after the first 10 months of 2011 the country's budget deficit amounted to zł.22.5 billion, Rzeczpospolita reported. That's around 60 percent of the amount planned for the full year.
“Things are very good,” said Deputy Finance Minister Hanna Majszczyk.
“The reasons are the same as in the previous month, lower spending and higher revenues,” she added.
In mid-October, the Ministry of Finance reported that the state budget deficit amounted to zł.21.9 billion for January-September 2011, or 54.5 percent of the planned amount for the full year.
