Kaczyński to remain the leader of PiS
Jarosław Kaczyński declared that he would not resign from leading the Law and Justice (PiS) party despite its highly unsatisfactory result in the recent parliamentary elections.
In 2008, the head of PiS promised to step down if his party did not win the 2011 parliamentary vote. In the end, PiS came second to Civic Platform.
On Wednesday, Mr Kaczyński explained that his change of mind was influenced by three years of experience, the Smolensk catastrophe and everything that has happened after it.
