Two key economic indicators for August suggest Poland's economy is not being dragged down by troubles in the euro zone just yet.

The country's jobless rate fell faster than expected in August – to 11.6 percent from 11.7 percent the month before. The unemployment rate has now fallen for six consecutive months.

Separately, Poland's Central Statistical Office released retail sales figures which showed growth of 11.3 percent year-on-year in August. Economists had expected growth of 9.1 percent.
