The supervisory board of Poland's flagship carrier Lot Polish Airlines has rejected an agreement with cabin crew that was approved and initialed in mid-June by the company’s board of directors and Cabin Crew Trade Union (ZZPP), reported Rzeczpospolita.
The agreement was supposed to significantly improve the working and resting conditions of flight attendants who work at Lot. It was due to be adopted in mid-June by the firm's supervisory board.
However, the board asked for additional clarification, and has now decided that the company simply can not afford the required additional expenditures of of zł.5-6 million per year that the changes would entail.
It is unknown how the union will react to this decision. ZZPP had earlier launched a referendum to see whether there was approval among the crew for a possible strike.
The referendum ended on August 31, however; its results were not published as the union was waiting for a final decision to come from the supervisory board.
