Allegro sales in 2011 could reach zł.8.6 billion
Poland's online auction site, Allegro, has strengthened its position as an e-commerce market leader with sales on the site expected to top zł.8.6 billion this year, reports Rzeczpospolita.
This is more than all other e-commerce sales across the country and the final figure for 2011 could potentially be even higher, as in 2010 final sales were greater than the predictions of zł.7.6 billion.
Since it opened in 1999, Allegro has grown to be Poland's leading online auction site, with the top ten retailers in March this year grossing a combined total of zł.68 million, reported Gazeta Wyborcza.
According to Alledrogo.pl, there were almost 500,000 sales a day on Allegro during June 2011.
