Economists call for extended retirement age
Economists are calling for the retirement age to be extended in order to ensure the availability of higher pensions in the future.
On Monday, President Bronisław Komorowski invited economists and government representatives to debate which measures are needed to allow for future pensions to be 25-30 percent higher than a person’s final salary.
The gradual raising of the retirement age to 67 for both sexes would, on its own, result in a 1.3 percent rise in GDP each year, Maciej Bukowski, president of the Structural Research Institute, told Rzeczpospolita.
